Personalisation is an important aspect when it comes to purchasing an exotic car, which is why McLaren is showing off just what its MSO (McLaren Special Operations) division is capable of with this unique take on the latest GT.
Simply called the McLaren GT by MSO, the vehicle will make its public debut at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event happening this weekend. The company says the inspiration for this creation comes from British architecture, and there are a number of special touches on show.
First up, the GT is finished in a newly developed exterior paint colour, MSO Defined Flux Silver, which is contrasted by MSO Bespoke Satin Graphite paint on the door skirts, front splitter, wing mirrors, rear bumper and diffuser.
Other exterior cues include MSO Bespoke Satin Graphite Iron brake calipers and the MSO Bright Pack, the latter featuring a chrome exterior upper window surround, polished titanium exhaust finishers and Gloss Black Diamond Cut wheels.
The modifications extend into the interior, as you’ll find MSO Bespoke Geoform stitching, which the company says is inspired by the geometric canopy design of the British Museum, on the seat backs, sun visor, door cards and armrest.
The cabin also sports Flux White leather and a contrasting Satin Graphite leather to complement the exterior colour, with the MSO logo embossed in the headrests and leather sills. To add a touch of sportiness, MSO Bespoke Silver Infused carbon fibre trim is applied to the extended shift paddles and the steering wheel clasp.
Other items specified here include an MSO electrochromic roof, bespoke floor mats and key fob finished in Flux Silver to match the exterior body colour. McLaren didn’t say how much this exact specification will cost, but you can be sure it’s well above the GT’s starting price of 163,000 British pounds (RM824,144).
While the aesthetics have been improved, the powertrain remains unchanged, and consists of a 620 PS/630 Nm 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 mated to a seven-speed SSG transmission. From a rest, it will hit 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, 200 km/h in nine seconds flat, and will hit a top speed of 326 km/h.
